2008 Round Up

2008 A historic and crazy year. Gas prices sky rocket almost all the way through the whole year. Then towards the end they lower DRASTICALLY! The oldest woman, and the oldest man both died. The Philadelphia Phillies win the world series breaking their curse, Diddy dismisses Aubrey O'Day and D.Woods from "Danity Kane". Barack Obama becomes the 44th President of The United States, he is also the first African American President!

MUSIC:

Everybody is going around giving their lists of "Top Songs" for the year 2008. I think everyone has their own personal list, how can someone who only likes rap acknowledge a great rock song? I decided that I am going to give my "personal" list of top 20 songs of 2008. After you read mine make your own and see whats different. Britney Spears...Yes, Britney Spears. She came back and her songs are actually not that bad(That's impressive in itself). Not to mention she already has a new fan base including old fans and new ones too.






2009 Prediction Who To Look Out For
Jazmine Sullivan! I definitely had to pick her, she has one of the most powerful voices I have heard in a while. She really can speak to you through her songs and her voice rivals some of the legends as far as I'm concerned. Her voice has something special about it that I have not heard from any recent artists. Singers beware! Jazmine Sullivan's gonna bust your windows out if you don't watch her carefully.

Horror Movie Of 2008
If you're into horror movies I highly recommend "30 Days of Night". This movie is by far the best(and scariest) vampire movie in a long time. Definitely worth watching, even if you're not a fan of vampires but still like horror films.



Most Interesting Movie Of 2008
Eagle Eye: Eagle Eye is (to me) the most interesting movie of the year. Shia Lebouff does an excellent job as well. The movie focuses on artifical intelligence created by the United States of America. After watching the movie it really makes you think "How close are we to creating this in real life". Another movie I highly recommend watching.



Movie Of 2008/Best Actor
Time and Time again we hear the same movie and possibly actor...well I'm just here to reinforce that. The Dark Knight HAS to be the best movie of the year. Whether you're a Batman fan or not you have to watch this movie(if you haven't already). If you're one of those people who are afraid not to watch it because you have not seen the first one don't worry, seeing the first one does not really affect your understanding of the movie. The best actor was in this movie, Heath Ledger. Heath Ledger played the Joker. But he did more than "play" the part of the Joker, he became it. Jack Nicholson had warned him not to get to into the part, however the warning came to late. In giving one of the best performances ever Heath Ledger took his own life. R.I.P Heath Ledger, Best Actor of 2008.



Biggest News Of 2008:
Barack Obama becomes the 44th President! Easily the biggest news. Countries around the world felt the impact of the electing of the first African American President. I saw a video showing all the countries reactions and they were all touched, just as all of America should be. Congratulations to President-Elect Barack Obama, Vice President-Elect Joe Biden and First Lady Michelle Obama.

The Money And The...NO Power?

50 Cent's reality show, "The Money and the Power", had no power on its viewers. The show could not captivate enough watchers, and will no longer be aired. Donald Trump had said he knew that the show would not do well and he was correct. Sorry 50, nice try...I guess? But good news everybody, we now have Bromance to watch!...wheres TRL when you need it. Hopefully MTV will get some more music shows and stay away from all the reality stuff.

After searching for something to watch I turned on his new show, "Bromance". In this show Jenner is searching for a new best friend, a replacement for Spencer Pratt...how sad is it that he can't find a best friend without a show. Rihanna's Remixes

Rihanna will be releasing an album early in 2009. The exact date is set to be January, 27th. The album will be a collection of remixes to her doublt platinum album, Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded. The album will have 12 tracks and I am sure we will be seeing some remixes of "Umbrella". If you're a Rihanna fan make sure you get this and check out the remixes.

Paris Robbed

Late Thursday night, Paris Hilton's home was robbed. Luckily the heiress was not home at the time of the robber, so no harm came to her. The robber supposidly got away with around $2 Million, worth of jewlery and other items. Reports have said that the robber was able to get in through an unlocked door. I would think Paris has insurance for every single thing stolen so maybe this just taught her a lesson....lock your doors! Especially during the Holiday Season.

Mamma Mia, the film, is doing surprisngly well. The film adaptaion has made $95 Million since its release in the UK box office alone. Worldwide the movie has made $571 Million! Mamma Mia has even topped "Titanic" as the UK's biggest movie since 1998. First Hairspray now Mamma Mia. Twilight who?

Writing Format

Just wanted to let people know that when I originally started this blog, I had centered the writing and the picture. That was because there was a center button however now, I do not know if blogger changed it, or if my computer is messed up, I do not have a center button. I am going to be experimenting with different ways of posting now because of this. So don't think I am getting lazy or not caring, it is just I am trying new things since there is no more center option. Thanks!

"Americas Most Wanted" Caught

I'm sure most of you know the story of the murder of John Walsh's son Adam Walsh. If not i'll sum it up quickly for you. On July 27, 1981 Adam Walsh was abducted from a Sears Store. Sixteen days later, unfortuantely his severed head was found around 100 miles away from his home. The rest of his body was never found. The prime suspect was Ottis Toole. Although he confessed twice to the murder, both times he took his confession back. Toole died serving a life sentence for other crimes and he was never charged with the murder of Adam Walsh. The Walsh family began to help missing children and eventually the Missing Children Act of 1982 and the Missing Children Assistance Act of 1984 were created. Today, December 16th 2008, Ottis Toole was officialy identifed as the killer. "The not knowing has been torture...But that journey's over", John Walsh said when he was informed of the good news. The Walsh family has helped many people with their efforts and finally they can have a sense of closure and security.

I'm sure most of you saw this. Over the weekend President Bush had a shoe thrown at him, not once but twice. Look how helpful the security was, and especially the guy next time. They did...nothing at all. Bush ducked the first one but the second one missed him just by luck. After reading other websites and blogs most people are saying that no one cares because Obama will be president in a month. What do yo think?

It's A Boy!

30 year old singer Usher, and his wife Tameka have a new addition to the family. Usher and Tameka Raymond's son, Naviyd Ely Raymond was born on Wendsday Dec. 10 at 2:33am. The baby boy weighed 5lbs., 130z. "I'm so proud to be a father by the time I'm 30", usher told PEOPLE in August. Congratulations to Usher and Tameka on their new son.

KB Toys announced today that they will be going out of business They will begin their going-out-of-business-sales immediately. 277 mall stores will be closed along with 40 KB Toy Work stores and 114 outlet stores. Close to 11,000 employees will be affected by the close. This close to the Holiday Season, it is sad to see so many retailers going out of business.

Suspect Cleared

The main suspect in the shooting death of Mark Ruffalo's brother, Scott, has been released. Police released 26 year old Shaha Mishaal Adham late Tuesday night. Police had said she was not a murderer and just a witness to the self-inflected shooting of Scott Ruffalo. Scott was only 39 years old when he died. "There will be no criminal filing at this time...", said Adham's attorney, Ronald Richards. I hope that the Ruffalo family can find some peace and security soon.

Janet Is Not Pregnant

Janet Jackson is not pregnant with her first child says Jermaine Dupri. Rumours that she was pregnant were speculated when she had to cancel most of her tour. Celebrity blogger, Perez Hilton, helped spread these rumors. Jermaine said that she is not pregnant and "... when she gets pregnant everyone will know". Putting the rumors to rest he also said, "Does Perez know that lying destorys the credibility of a blogger?" I said this before with the "Lil Wayne is dead" rumor, please do your research before you start spreading rumors...even if you are a celebrity blogger -no names mentioned- =].

O.J. Gets Up To 33 Years

Simpson will be going to prison for kidnapping and robber. "I'm sorry", O.J. Simpson said, "I didn't want to hurt anybody, I didn't know I was doing anything wrong", he explained. It ishard to determain his sentence, as no one agrees. The New York times reports 9 years, the washington post says 15. TheLos Angeles Times says 16 and the Wall Street Journal reports 33.

Most say whatever the sentence is, there was no way to have a fair trial after his 1995 trial.

Case Closed

William Balfour, the main and only suspect in the case concerning the murders of Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew, has now officially been charged with three counts of first degree murder and home invasion. He is scheduled for a hearing tomorow at noon, central time.
Maybe new the Hudson faimly can get some peace and security.
