Sunday Motivation: Work Hard

This week's Sunday Motivation post is going to be pretty short, but basically, I just want to remind all of you to work hard and never give up! Like the quote above says, "nothing worth having comes easy." This quote is so true, but at the end of the day, if you are dedicated and work hard, you will be rewarded.

Living out here in Los Angeles I finally realized that work ethic is so important. They say it's difficult to make it out here, and the truth is, it's difficult to make your dreams come true no matter where you live. You have to put in the time and hard work, and make some sacrifices to make it happen.

I've become familiar with the LA dynamic, and I'm starting to see why everyone thinks it's a one in a million shot out here; it's because no one has a good work ethic. It's so easy to become distracted by the life style in LA, and within a few months you'll start to worry more about having fun, than working hard. The fact of the matter is, if you are willing to do the work, you will be able to continue to grow. There are so many opportunities out here to take advantage of, but everyone is too busy going to parties, or worrying about their social status. All you need to do is focus.

That being said, this week, focus on your work ethic. If there is something you're working towards, do not give up, no matter how hard it gets. If you find yourself getting distracted, take a minute to regroup and get back on track.

Sunday Motivation: Forgiveness

I think I've mentioned this before, but I love going on The Good Quote  and looking at all of their quotes on Instagram. They always have the best posts and they can really change your perspective on a lot of things.

This week for Sunday Motivation I wanted to talk about forgiveness. The quote above really resonated with me this week so I wanted to share. "When a friend does something wrong, don't forget all the things they did right."

Too many people harbor negative feelings towards others because they were hurt by them, but that is going to happen in life. People are going to hurt you, even your friends. It's actually quite normal.  You can learn a lot from the hurt and sometimes the pain will help you grow. What does not help you grow is keeping in the negative feelings. It is always important to forgive your friends, and it's even okay to forgive your enemies(trust me, nothing will bother them more).

Just remember that no one is perfect, and if your friends hurt you, they probably didn't mean to do it. One mistake shouldn't outweigh ten good deeds. It would be a shame to miss out on future memories because you are too busy holding in that anger. Just release it and forgive them.

If it turns out that maybe you need to move on, then forgive them and distance yourself from them. It is important to recognize that forgiveness does not necessarily mean that you have to stay friends with someone.  Forgiveness allows you to clear your mind and focus on the positive things in your life.

This week, take the time to forgive your friends and your enemies. Think about which friends really did not mean to hurt you and tell try to make amends with them. Find the friends that do not fit into your life right now, forgive them, and distance yourself so that you can focus on the positive. Lastly, forgive your enemies. Don't let them get the best of you. Forgive them and forget about them. You will feel much better after.

Sunday Motivation: Enjoy the Little Things

It's that time again; time for some Sunday Motivation! This time, I wanted to write about enjoying the little things in life, and really taking the time to appreciate what we have.

So yesterday, I was hanging out with some of my friends, and I realized that sometimes it becomes so easy to lose sight of how fortunate we all are. For example, my friends and I went to City Walk, had lunch, my one friend went to work, and then my other friend and I walked back to my apartment. It was a pretty simple day, but when I look back and think about it, we are so lucky to be able to enjoy something as simple as hanging out.

First, the fact that we were able to spend time at City Walk, which is only walking distance from where we live, is amazing to begin with. I feel like I always take that for granted, just because I'm so used to living in the area. Also, being able to go out and enjoy lunch with friends is a blessing in itself. Then, we walked my friend to his job; another blessing. So many people are looking for work right now, and we are all fortunate enough to be living out in California while working and following our dreams.

On the walk back to the apartment I was just looking around and really taking in the beauty of California. Everyday I get to wake up and enjoy this beautiful weather, and call this incredible place home. As we walked over the highway, I stopped and took the above photo, which I think is pretty cool actually.

Sometimes, something as simple as lunch with friends, or enjoying the place you live, or even a gate and some traffic, can really turn into something beautiful, or a great time. Much too often we take what we have for granted, and so this week, think of everything positive that happens in your life, and try to focus on that over the negative. This week, enjoy the little things in life.

Sunday Motivation: Live Life To The Fullest

I mentioned this a week or so ago when I officially relaunched my blog, but as a reminder, Sunday will be my motivational day. I think it's a great way to get a positive start to our week. This week, I wanted to write a quick little post about living life to the fullest. I was inspired by the quote above, from my favorite quote site, www.thegoodvibe.co. If you haven't checked them out, you need to get on that!

"Live life to the fullest." It's such a common statement that we hear all the time, but how many times do we actually apply it to our lives? I know, personally, I always said it, but I never really applied it. It took me a while to finally go after what I truly wanted in life; which eventually led me to California.  I won't bore you with the story of me moving to California, because I feel like we've heard that one enough.

I guess, what I really wanted to say was this; we are always setting goals for ourselves and we are always striving for something more. Instead of planning our lives out, let's just live them to the fullest. Let's stop planning everything out in life. The best things are spontaneous.

Start this week by doing something you've always said you were going to do, but never got around to doing.  Sometimes, following you dreams and living life to the fullest isn't easy, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't go for it. What better time than the present?
